Only 6 to go
I found my 74th Gromit today - at Arnos Vale and so only 6 left. The ones that I still have to get are the slightly further afield, e.g. Paddington, Cheddar Gorge and Westonbirt Arboretum.I hope to get these over the next two weeks, although the Paddington may not be so easy.
The Gromits are part of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal "Gromit Unleashed". It is a public art exhibition in which giant sculptures of Gromit, decorated by invited artists, have been unleashed on the streets of Bristol and the surrounding area.
At the end of the art trail, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity. The website for the event is: http://www.gromitunleashed.org.uk/
It has finally happened - Gromit has been locked up and is behind bars. He looks scared and lonely. I bet that penguin had something to do with it and Wallace is off somewhere eating crackers and Wensleydale!
The Gromit Unleashed - Poetry in Motion gets locked behind the Cathedral gates at night. He suffered damaged - some vandal broke off his tail. Why would anyone do that? It seems so pointless.
I will be donating 50p for every fave or comment up to a maximum of £100. The money will go to the fund.
I am now considering developing a book of the 8 Gromits - anyone know a friendly publisher who might be interested? I plan to donate all proceeds other than production costs. I have a number of other photos of the Gromits beyond the montage above.
I will let you know how I get on.
