Thought for Today
“That pleasure which is at once the most pure, the most elevating and the most intense, is derived, I maintain, from the contemplation of the beautiful.”
- Edgar Alan Poe
This quote has fascinated me - Poe's writing is excellent, is it a thing of beauty? Not sure, and maybe this is how Poe balanced his writings and his life.
This climber (yes - a person in one of my photos - a rare thing) was taking in the view across Weirwood, near East Grinstead. He had succeeded at a difficult solo climb.
With the weather today decidely driecht (means dull or dour), I find it can be easy to loose the wonderful beauty of the soft light and mist. Especially when there are job applications to complete, emails to send and newsletters to write.
Still it is my hope that this climber and his journey to his goal, helps other to rise to the challenges of today, so that you too can look across and see what it most important - that it is a wonderful world.
